"The Street Kid" by John Assaraf "The Street Kid's Guide to Having It All"
I got this book as an e-book. I read it over two days.It is an easy read and very informative. The author, John Asseraf was the street kid that he talks about, that went from having nothing to changing his thinking and his ways and ended up at a young age of having it all. This book takes you through the things to do so that you too can have it all. There are exercises to do. The only disapointing thing that I found with it, was the web page that he gave to get the worksheets did not work for me. So I have to write my answers out by hand. A chore for me, but not impossible!
"Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T Kiyosaki with Sharon L Lechter C.P.A.
ISBN 0-446-67745-0
I have read this book several times. Robert Kiyosaki tells how he grew up with his dad, who was a proffessor, who was the poor dad he talks about, and his friend's father who did not have the same high education but was a business man, the Rich Dad that he talks about.Robert Kiyosaki is a self taught, self made entrepreneur who was able to retire at age 47. He tells how his two 'dads' influenced and shaped his future and explains how it was that he was able to retire wealthy at an early age. He came out of retirement because he believed that "if you want your child to have a financially secure future, they can't play by the old set of rules. It's just too risky." Robert devised the "CashFlow" game, that I have enjoyed playing; a game which helps you get out of the 'rat race'. He also has a version for children. It is a game I hope my grandchildren play as soon as they are old enough!
