August 5th 2006 Bosun is 24 weeks old today!
Bosun is still tethered up on a long lead for a lot of the time. However, when I am walking him in the field, or when I am sitting outside and can watch him, he is off leash. He is getting good at coming to me when I call him. He has taken to go into the paddock with Sparky, which I don't mind. However if he barks at him then he is immediately put on leash and taken 'back to base' outside the back door. He is good too when I now put the leash on him. He knows that he is not allowed to mouth and bite me. He still likes to harass the cats when they come in of an evening so I shake the bottle that has pebbles in it, which he hates, and he stops immediately.
He is still fascinated with the water that comes out of the irrigation pipes or out of hoses and loves to 'help' with the setting up of these!
Bo had an accident in the house the other evening but it is most unusual for this to happen now.
Bo likes to help in the veggie patch and sneaks in as soon as I open the gate! He loves to eat the peas straight off the pod and the zucchini straight from the plant.

We set off at 7am for Lillooet. We go via Greenwood, Midway, Rock Creek, Kelowna, Vernon, Cache Creek and then take a detour down Fontain Valley Road as this is where our friend live. We stop several timkes on the way so Bosun and Jaxx can stretch their legs. They are both excellent on the journey. That evening we set off again to meet our friends and leave the boys in the car for the evening. The only mishap this evening was an upset water bowl in the back of the car.
11pm and we are back at our motel room and take both boys for a much needed walk. Then we settle down to sleep. BUT Bosun doesn't! While I sleep he decides to jump over my husband, to chew my shoes and attempt to chew the leg of the furniture. I wake after an hour of sleep and take over from my husband in watching Bo! I decide to leash him so that he cannot wander all round the motel room. He settles for a while but then decides to lick my face, or jump on me! We didn't get much sleep!! Next time we go away I think it woudl be worth taking Bo's cage so that he knows he has his own little home! Most of the trouble however is becasue he didn't get enough exercise I think!
Wed Aug 16 2006. We set off back towards home with several stops along the way. A lovely stop was the Kettle River Provincial Park where the boys went in the water and had a nice walk.
Sat Aug 19 2006 Bo is 26 weeks old today. He is SIX MONTHS OLD now!
Bo is off leash now most of the time and is only on when I cannot watch him for some reason or else when he decides to bark at the horses or wander off on the road.
He has learnt some crafty tricks!... like putting his paw on Jaxx's cookie, hoping Jaxx will forget about the cookie, gradually bringing it closer to himself, looking at Jaxx to see if he has got away with it!, then eating Jaxx's cookie!

Bo had been a pain and gone visiting the neighbours though he wasn't invited! So we tethered him on his long rope and lead. Later I was upstairs and noticed that Bo was not where he should be!!! He had got loose somehow. On closer investigation it could be seen that he had broken his collar so had nothing now around his neck! The only collar that we had that would fit him was Otis' collar that I had put in my memento drawer. He wore that for the evening.
Aug 24 2006 We went down to Colville and got him a strong collar there, plus a strong lead as he has broken so many leads and also a 20 foot training leash.
Sat Aug 26 2006 Bo is 27 weeks old today.

Bo enjoyed being outside in the wind and rain earlier today. Later in the day he enjoyed chasing the Tumbleweed.
Here he is enjoying a horse's nail clipping:
