2 Dec 2006 Bosun is 41 weeks old today
Bosun continues to love the snow and doesn't seem to mind the cold weather. We do not stay out in it very long and when he asks to go out and I am busy I put him on his long leash. Then I make sure he doesn't stay out too long. He likes to take a toy out with him whenever he goes out on the field. We have lost several balls out there and now we take a green oval ball on a rope, which he loves. He doesn't let me throw it very much, but he does enjoy carrying it and playing with it.

Last night when we went out Bosun discovered the icy puddles. They amused him and he played around them for ages. He would step on them, listen to the crack of the ice, then play with the water and try to pull the ice up with his front paws.
16 Dec 2006 Bosun is 43 weeks old today
For some time now Bosun has been able to climb over the gates that separate the lounge from the hall way and the dining room from the kitchen. So now the gate from the dining room to the kitchen is always down. I have left the other one in place for the time being to discourage Bo from using that doorway. When he is inside the lounge or the dining room we do not allow him to run riot! If he starts to behave that way he is put in the utility room until he calms down. He is gradually learning!

Bo loves playing with his toy which has a rope with a ball attached. He has two very similar. The green one in this video is now high on a roof waiting to be fetched down. The orange one is still in use by him!:
