Bosun has filled out well. He has a strong stocky frame now. He is quite a character. He sleeps in the utility room where the two cats, Ben and Snuggles sleep. During the night he doesn't bother them, but the moment he sees me in the morning he goes to check on the two cats, peeping into their baskets and generally annoying them!
He uses his front feet well.... if Jaxx has a cookie and he thinks Jaxx might not want it, then he settles beside him, stretches his front paws out so one of them is near the cookie, waits till Jaxx isn't looking and places his paw on the cookie. If Jaxx ignores the move then Bosun knows he can eat the cookie without any contest. If Jaxx sees him, he does nothing with his paw!
Bosun loves to play ball. He looks for his toy first thing in the morning as we set off to walk across the back fields. We also make our way via the paddock where the two horses, Buddy and Sparky are. On rare occasions we feed the horses, but usually it is their owners who come over to feed them. However Bosun likes to go and see the horses and if we have a carrot for the horses then Bosun wants a bite of the carrot too!
Bo alerts me at night and in the early morning when the deer are around. He barks excitedly and runs to the door or looks out the window. Then I see the deer just outside the dining room window or in the front garden. They sleep at night on our back fields and in the morning when Bo and I go walking across the fields we see the imprint of where their bodies have been. Bo likes to roll in their dung and in the imprints the deer have left.

After our early morning walk across the fields I put Bo on his long leash outside. Later Jaxx went out and Bo likes to be outside with him, watching where he goes and barking at whatever it is Jaxx barks at. After a little while I checked to see that all was well with the two dogs. When it is cold I don't like to leave them outside too long, but on the other hand if they are wandering around enjoying themselves then I don't like to bring them in too early either! Well this morning I looked out the window to see the leash lying on the ground and Bo wandering where he normally does while on leash, but with a dangly bit of leash about six foot long. I don't think Bo had realised that the leash had broken and that he was in fact free to roam the back yard! So it meant I had to find another substitute leash. I have used a long rope, about twenty feet long, but unfortunately it has no clip on it. I have had to tie it to his collar and have been leaving his collar off while he is indoors! It means I don't have to be out in the cold for too long fastening the rope to his collar! Lazy!! BUT it IS cold out! We had minus 14C this morning with a high of minus 7.5C today!

We have had more snow over the last few days. The back field now has at least 12 inches, more like 14 inches of snow. It covers over my boots when we are out there walking. Bo still loves to play in it though! We take out his ball on a rope and I throw it and he chases after it, shakes it, throws it in the air or guards it! He likes to wrestle for it but also likes to give it to me so he can fetch it again!
At other times when Bo wants to be outside and I am busy I put him on his long leash and he roams as far as he is able in the back yard. When I shovel the snow away he gets very excited, chases the shovel, tries to grab it in his mouth and prevent me from shovelling! After a little time of having his help I usually leash him so he can watch without hindering me!
The deer are still coming regularly into the back yard and exciting the dogs! They are usually there some time in the evening and night time and are often loitering when I take the two dogs out last thing at night. Bo is always leashed at this time and I have to look before I go out so that he doesn't pull me along the snow and ice! Jaxx is always off leash at this time but he is unable to run through the deep snow due to his short legs so the deer are safe from his chasing!

As usual we had a stint of playing on the field this afternoon which Bo enjoyed. However the snow has turned wet now and he came off after half an hour with many many snow balls attached to his fur!
