We were given this bug catcher on Canada Day Weekend
It is a useful gadget as it attracts the insects. They go inside through the hole in the bottom, drink the fluid and then they can't find their way out again.
We have caught many wasps and fruit flies and other insects in it.
It has a cork in the top which you take out to put the sweet liquid in. Honey is good to use as it attracts the insects, as is any other sweet type of liquid, like fruit juices etc.
Gently pour the liquid into the jar, taking care not to spill any on the outside (if you do, wipe it off so that the insects go INSIDE rather than feast on the liquid OUTSIDE).
When you put the jar level again the liquid should be just about up to the level of the top of the hole in the bottom.
As time goes on the fluid level drops so it will need replacing quite frequently.
