Three Family Trees

West/Morrell Family tree

Berry/Haylett Family tree

White/Maddock Family Tree

These three trees each open in a new window.

One of the things I am doing is a family tree.I have been researching for years and it is gradually coming together now. I found that it was more difficult to research the people I already knew a bit about, (I knew they were living BUT I could find no evidence of them!) than my ancestors who had been long dead. If I knew some of the relatives of the people I was researching, it helped a great deal. It was because of the relatives of my maternal grandfather that I found the names of his parents in the 1881 census (my grandfather hadn't yet been born but I knew the names of some of his siblings).

It is amazing what one can find out in the census. In the 1881 census I found the road in Great Yarmouth where my paternal grandfather lived at age 1 year 3 months and a few streets away I found the road where my paternal grandmother lived at age 3 months. And they later married in 1903. The question I now ask is: did they know each other in their childhood. It seems very likely they did. And it also seems likely that they went to the same school. The map of this is in the Document section of the album called Ancestors in the PHOTOS.

Be sure to check out the PHOTOS page as I have added some photos of ancestors and relatives plus copies of some documents I have in my possession. Go to the photos, click on albums and choose the one named Ancestors. This is divided into Documents, Berry's and White's. You can make the photo bigger by clicking on it, and if you wish you can even download copies to your computer (however they are not very good quality as I took the photos with my "palm" as I don't have a scanner. You can always contact me if you need more information on anything and I will help if at all possible. (blog me.... I won't publish your blog if you ask me not to in the blog.)

I will be updating regularly so be sure to check back often!

West/Morrell family tree Updated Dec 2006

I started with Alfred Raymond West and Hilda May Morrell, both deceased and go back from there.

Berry/Haylett family tree Updated Jan 2008

I started with Samuel James Berry and Margaret Maud Haylett, both deceased and go back from there.

Nov 2006: Update about this tree: It seems I might have the wrong parents for Samuel Haylett who was born in 1816 and married Ann Hayden. I noticed on one tree on the web that the parents were different to the ones I have. My proof is from the IGI records which show the parents as I have it on the tree here. However on the tree on the web it gives Samuel SHIELDS Haylett as the one who married Ann Hayden, the proof for this (which I was told after contacting the person whose tree it is) being the marriage of the OTHER Samuel's daughter's marriage where the father is apparently stated as being Samuel SUTTON Haylett. This information was derived from parish transcripts, which until I see for myself I cannot determine the correctness.

My friend spent the best part of a day helping me with my research, she on her computer in her home, and me on mine here. She too could not find the necessary evidence, even though she has a subscription site which gives her bigger access than the information I can find. Until we can see those parish transcripts I don't think we will solve the puzzle!

Jan 2008. I have added several updates to this tree. I have changed the parents of James Berry... a contact of mine who shares this same relative has his marriage certificate and it shows that James father is a JOHN Berry. Caroline Mobbs' father is also a John, which shows that the parents I had for her were not after all her parents. However they are still on my family tree as a relative in the late 1800's married an Edith Mobbs and these are her great grandparents!

White/Maddock Family Tree Updated Dec 2006

I started with Daniel Eli White and Eva Maddock, both deceased and go back from there.

Is your surname one of them?

These are in Power Point Presentaion form. I have the GED files on my computer, but felt that this might be a better way to display it for you.

These might take a while to load so please be patient. I have also heard it loads best on Internet Explorer. I have been informed it does NOT load on Firefox. If you have trouble viewing it please let me know by blogging me.

These trees DO open in a new page.

I would like to thank Lucy as she is the one that uploaded these trees for me. Click here to see her interesting new site on Great Little Places, and Chris for sorting out all the problems I encounter! at Pause for Paws.
