I planted our cosmos seeds in late April when I got back from the UK. I never transplanted them but decided to leave them to make a display in the big pot that I planted them in rather than spread them out in a garden.

These are our Cosmos July 21 2006:
Varieties
There are many varieties. Picotee (white petals with red margins), Candy Stripe (white with red veins), Gold Cosmos, Day Dream (white with red halo around yellow stamens), and Psycho White are a few.
Height
Depending on the variety of cosmos they can grow up to about 7 feet tall.
Flowers
Yellow, orange, red, white, striped.
How to grow
Yellow Cosmos usually requires full sun. Rich fertile soil tends to produce tall, lanky plants. They like well drained soil. I read that Cosmos requires "tough" love.. ie. don't overwater but wait until it is almost drooping, and do let it have full sun
Where found
Yellow Cosmos is Native to the Americas.
