Geraniums

I think Geraniums are my all time favourite flower. They look beautiful, come in many colors and varieties and smell wonderful!

I planted geranium seeds at the end of April 2006. Many of the seeds grew. I put two seeds in each small pot and left them in the greenhouse until they were growing well. Then I transplanted the small plants to a larger pot. They have remained in pots all summer outside the back door (we are working on this area so I didn't want to plant them directly in the soil where they would then have to be disturbed again. )

Varieties

There are many varieties of pelargoniums,including trailing varieties which look great in hanging baskets.

Leaf:

The leaf is two toned and crinkly round the edges. When you rub the leaf it has the most wonderful smell. (I love the smell of geraniums but there are people who do not. It is one of those plants that you either LOVE the smell or you HATE it! It seems there is no in between!)

Flowers

The flowers have five petals and come in a variety of color.
