I am researching my family trees and now they are on the site (four of them), as well as the researching I did while doing the family trees and a description of how I am going about researching the new family tree I am working on.
I am interested in reading so I have put a few books I have enjoyed here too and commented about them.
We will be growing our own vegetables this year so I will be putting what I discover here! Any advice will be listened to but not necessarily taken! As my mum says: "listen to all advice then make up your own mind what to do."
I have now added a plant section (herbs .. parsely, sage, rosemary, thyme, flowers... lilac, wild rose, fruit....tomato and rhubarb and vegetable... aspargus)and a tree section related to our farm.(Ponderosa Pine, Apple, Cherry, Hazel, Pear, Plum, Rowan, Silver Birch)
I am interested in Body Management so have linked a page for that.
We have two horses, two dogs, and four cats that live on our farm, so I have a page about animals. (our Shih Tzu, Jaxx, our tricolored border collie pup, Bosun , our Maine coon cat, Ben and our Australian Shepherd, Otis who sadly is no longer with us; as well as Snuggles our grey cat, Cosmo a cat we inherited on the farm, Runty my daughters' cat who lived to the great age of 21 years, and Sparky and Buddy the two horses who live on the farm.)
I am adding pages of birds that I have seen in British Columbia, from the very tiny Bush Tit to the large Bald Eagle. (bald eagles, ducks, geese, herons, bush tits, robins, hummingbirds)
Since I have been a teacher for over thirty years I have added pages about teaching and children and behaviour.
I have written a little bit about Grand Forks, and tubing in the area as well as snow tubing on the North Vancouver Mountains.
We had very high water in the Kettle river in may 2006 and now there are two pages related to this: the Flood page and the Cascade Falls pages.
We took Bosun on his first real outing to Nelson, BC , a big mistake as we found it was a dog free area so I put our experience down on a page about Nelson!
In late June we went to Bard on the Beach to see Measure for Measure so I have added a page for that.
People keep asking me what I had to go through to become a Canadian Citizen so now there is a page explaining that!
